The number of people primarily working from home tripled between 2019 and 2021. Micheal Burrows, a statistician in the Census Bureauโs Journey-to-Work and Migration Statistics Branch said, โWork and commuting are central to American life, so the widespread adoption of working from home is defining feature of the COVID-19 pandemic.โ
Over 2,000 employees were surveyed by Owl Labs about remote work. 70% want to hybrid or remote working style after the pandemic is completely over. Also, 3 in 4 (74%) said that working from home is better for their mental health and would be less likely to leave their company if the company offered a remote work option.
Many CEOs are worrying about the productivity of working at home. According to the Mexico Autonomous Institute of Technology, Bloom, and Chicago Boothโs survey, nearly 6 out of 10 workers reported being more productive working from home than they expected to be. Overall, 40% of workers reported they were more productive at home during the pandemic than they had been when in the office.

New technologies such as remote working tools (like Sorichat) and artificial intelligence can allow remote working for many workers. For SoriChat, it is a great tool for remote working because it is made for remote and asynchronous team collaboration. Sorichatโs virtual space is literally your own office. No matter of busy schedules or different time zones, you can continue those conversations at your pace and get things done. The voice call feature makes it easier to collaborate and talk to each other immediately.
After COVID-19, many workers wish to continue working from home and they see more benefits in it. In the upcoming years, many jobs will be simplified and automated with new technologies for both white and blue collars and allow them to work from home or any other place they want.
